One of the most outstanding professional orchestras in China, this revered ensemble is renowned for its splendid artistry, tremendous dedication and consummate professionalism. Founded in 1956, the China National Symphony Orchestra has spent the last half century promoting Chinese symphonic works to audiences across the globe while introducing Chinese audiences to an expansive repertoire of orchestral works by both Western and Asian Composers. The China National Symphony Orchestra is made up of an outstanding team of instrumentalists, many of whom have won prizes in national and international competitions.
One of the pieces to be performed is the opening movement of Requiem for the Earth by Xia Guan, composer and the director of China National Symphony Orchestra, written in remembrance of the people of the Sichuan province following the devastating 2008 earthquake.

- Adult Subscriptions are $50 for a ticket to both shows in the Clemens Community Concert Series. (Please note: convenience and facility fees may apply per each “paid” subscription order.)
- Youth Tickets for Ages 17 and under are FREE when accompanied by at least one Adult subscription purchase. Please indicate the number of youth attending at time of order. The Clemens Center is pleased to offer FREE tickets to young people (ages 17 and under) through the support of a generous contribution from The Edwin Caplin Foundation, Mr. Edwin Caplin and Mr. Chretien Risley.
